Steve Prescott Foundation Fell Run

On a very wet and wild Saturday morning, the team headed out into the fells to help raise money for the Steve Prescott Foundation, led by charity ambassador and gym member Barrie McDermott.

Forty people set off from Locker 19 on one of three routes (3/4.5/6.2 mile) at 10am. After tackling the infamous Heart Break Hill (Lark Hill), the participants were then cruelly set upon by the weather Gods, who battered the poor souls just as they were on the most exposed section of the course.

After a bit of a drowning, the route descended back into the Delph valley and towards Castleshaw reservoir, before taking a scenic meandering finish alongside the River Tame. For the Hares (6.2 mile route) however, their route sent them up the opposite side of the valley following the Pennine Bridleway, before a steep, technical descent brought them back to converge with the other routes, skirting Delph Village and then back to the gym for a well deserved hot brew.

The fastest time of the day for the Hares (6.2 mile) was Jarrod Gritt (44:04).
